My name is James, and I am a Fantasy Footballaholic. I can't seem to get enough fantasy football, even during the entire offseason. Joining a dynasty league has certainly helped satisfy my cravings during spring and summer. I created this blog in the general hopes of creating sort of a fantasy football portfolio. I hope this will help pave the way for at least a part-time FF career publishing articles, consultation, rankings, etc. For that goal to come to fruition, I am attempting to create an ever increasing following of FF addicts, who enjoy my work and respect my advice. This blog is therefore not just a fun hobby, but also an application of sorts.

Notes

~I figure Reggie Wayne has three more studly seasons left in him, including this season.

~Just like Tony Gonzalez in my TE rankings, I had a difficult time keeping Randy Moss in the elite category, considering he has prognosticated that he will more than likely depart the Patriots following this season. I'm not so worried about his age of 33 because he is a rare breed of a naturally athletic (and durable) freak of nature. We all know he will be huge this season.

~Anquan Boldin's production will now correlate with Joe Flacco's production as the Raven's top receiving option. That's a good thing.

~I thought about dropping Kenny Britt in the rankings a bit, but just because he was out of shape in this, his second offseason, doesn't suddenly justify dropping his dynasty value. If it becomes a recurring problem, watch out for the slide.

~Robert Meachem has finally entrenched himself as the starting WR opposite of Marques Colston. That won't change for a while.

~I like Devin Thomas to become Donovan McNabb's top receiving option this season.

~Enter the battle of Pierre Garcon, Anthony Gonzalez, and Austin Collie. So far, Gonzalez has been assured of an opportunity to compete with Garcon for the WR2 spot. Both Collie and Gonzalez are good fits in the slot, but I like Gonzalez to see more catches than Collie. This is a WR battle that will last into the season.

~Another WR battle to monitor is between Braylon Edwards and Santonio Holmes. They are not necessarily in competition with each other, but it remains to be seen who Mark Sanchez favors more. The favorite should rise in the rankings while the lesser favorite will probably stay put in the rankings. For now, I have them in the order of me being a University of Michigan fan. The loser here is Jerricho Cotchery.

~I don't know how much I want to buy into the Devin Aromashodu hype. He should do pretty well, but I see him being overrated on a lot of ranking lists. The fact is that the Bears do not possess a true WR1. They have a collection of WR3s and scrubs. I still expect them to address WR in next year's draft or through next year's free agency. However, Aromashodu is still a nice sleeper to own.

~By default, Malcom Floyd becomes Philip Rivers' top WR for at least the first three weeks of the season because of Vincent Jackson's suspension. Jackson could also holdout for the first ten weeks of the season, or even get traded. Value upgrade for Floyd.

~I expect James Jones to continue to develop and eventually take over for Donald Driver, once Driver retires or gets relegated. I like Jones better than Jordy Nelson.

~Jabar Gaffney could very well be the Broncos top WR this year, but that won't continue once Demaryius Thomas and Eric Decker develop.

~Santana Moss will continue to be horribly inconsistent, even with Donovan McNabb as his QB.

~There is a rumor that Malcolm Kelly could be cut. Even though that is not likely, it is enough for him to lose a bit of value.

~All relevant Chargers' WRs get upgraded, in light of Vincent Jackson's falling out with the organization.

~Happy trails Terrell Owens, Tory Holt, Laveranues Coles, Kevin Curtis, and Javon Walker. TO could find a team this year (maybe the Bears???), and has a small chance to be fantasy relevant in the right system. Holt is with the Patriots, but it is clear his knees are not cooperating with him.

  1. Since posting my WR rankings, I have adjusted Greg Jennings up from 13 to 11. I wanted to move him above Randy Moss, but I think he needs to reprove himself to be considered elite after last season's disappointing output. I think he will do so this season and will move a bit higher in the rankings, but I feel I need to be in a wait to see state with him. Besides, much like Drew Brees, Aaron Rodgers likes to spread the ball around and Jermichael Finley has broken out and James Jones is on the verge of breaking out. Don't forget Jordy Nelson in his third year.
